Coaching Staff (2026-27)

Chris Durso is a highly accomplished coach with 18 seasons of experience developing players across youth, high school, and junior levels in the St. Louis area. Most recently, he spent three seasons with the St. Louis Jr. Blues in the NA3HL as an assistant coach while also coaching in the Affton Central States Program. Prior to that he coached in parts of eight seasons with the St. Louis AAA Blues, helping multiple teams to Missouri State Championships and postseason success, including Central District titles. He has helped numerous athletes on their journeys to junior, collegiate, and professional hockey.

Durso has also played a significant role in advancing hockey in Missouri, serving on the Missouri Hockey, Inc. and Youth Division Boards for nearly 15 years. He has been the Missouri Hockey Director of Player Development since 2018 and currently serves as President of Missouri Hockey, Inc.

Head Coach: Sam Canfield

Sam has been a coach with our organization for 10 years. Sam was the Head Coach for the 2025 U16 team that ranked #1 in the country and went to Nationals and will continue to be our head coach at U16. Sam is currently the Coordinator of Operations and Programming for the TPH School in St Louis. Additionally, Sam spent 12 years in various roles with Synergy Hockey and brings a mix of skill development with video and analytics in his coaching.

Head Coach: Nick Carey

Nick been coaching with the AAA Blues organization in 2015. He has been the Head Coach for multiple teams over his tenure and has severed an Assistant Coach in our organization prior to his head coaching responsibilities. Nick lead the U15s in 2024 to a Tier 1 Elite championship. Nick started with the AAA Organization as a player and was part of the 1990 team that won the 14U USA Hockey National Championship Tournament. In addition to coaching, Nick was a pivotal member and instructor in Synergy Hockey and brings this experience to his coaching.

Head Coach: Stephen Bopp

This is Stephen’s fourth year with our organization.  Stephen has worked for several skill related hockey schools and brings this advantage to his coaching. As a player, Stephen played in the NAHL and finished his career with the Lindenwood Lions as a member of the 2016 National Team. Stephen owns and operates a personal fitness company and serves as a mentor to many in the hockey community.

Head Coach: Bill Ravensberg

Bill is entering his 17th season as a coach and has been affiliated with the AAA Blues, Saint Louis Knights, Varsity Kirkwood High Pioneers, Hockey Club of Saint Louis, and Kirkwood Stars. Bill’s teams have won the CSDHL championship and Missouri State Championship. In addition to coaching, he was president of the Kirkwood High Hockey Club, served on the coaching board for Kirkwood Youth Hockey Association, and currently serves on the Hockey Club of St. Louis board. As a player, Bill played for the St. Louis Junior Blues and College Hockey at Indiana University.

Head Coach: Eric Ormson

Eric is entering his 15th season as a head coach and been affiliated with the AAA Blues, Hockey Club of Saint Louis, Chesterfield Falcons, and Saint Louis Knights. Eric has won two USA Hockey National Championships, a CSDHL championship, and numerous Missouri State Championships. As a member of the AAA Blues organization for over five years, he also serves as our Boys Hockey Director for 14U-9u. As a player, Eric played for the St. Louis Junior Blues and College Hockey at the University of Arizona.

Head Coach: Jordy Fox

Jordy Fox is entering his third Season as Head Coach of the 2015 St Louis AAA Blues. Prior to joining the Blues, he coached the 2015 HC of STL for four years and he was assistant coach of the 2002 AAA Blues Team for three seasons. 

Coach Fox grew up playing in the Kirkwood organization and graduated to the AAA Blues organization before leaving home at 16 to play Jr hockey in Canada. He played 4 years of Jr A in the OPHL, NAHL, and USHL. After his last year of Jr hockey, Coach Fox played NCAA Division 1 Hockey at Merrimack College.

Following his collegiate career, he was fortunate to play 8 years of Pro Hockey across North America and Europe. He played in the UHL, ECHL and AHL before moving to Europe where he played in Finland and England. Coach Fox ended his career with the St Charles Chill in the CHL.

Head Coach: Tyler Osborne

A St. Louis native, Tyler Osborne developed through the St. Louis AAA Blues program, where he built a strong foundation in high-level competition and player development. His playing career advanced to the next level in both the OHL and the USHL, providing him with firsthand experience in elite junior hockey before starting school at the university of Guelph. 

With over 10 years of coaching experience, Osborne has focused on developing players to compete at higher levels, emphasizing skill development, hockey IQ, discipline, and character. His approach is rooted in preparing athletes for advancement while fostering a culture of accountability and growth.

Head Coach: Nathan Hucker

Entering his 16th year of coaching, and his first with the AAA Blues, we are excited to have Nathan lead the 2017 Squirt Minor team for the 2026-27 season. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to meet the long-term development goals of our young players. A product of the St. Louis hockey scene, he played for the AAA Blues and the St. Louis Jr. Blues before competing at the collegiate level for Nichols College and Lindenwood University.

Throughout his coaching tenure, Nathan has developed players across various ages and levels of hockey and has held coaching roles with the St. Louis Jr Blues, St. Louis Selects AAA, CarShield AAA, St. Peters Hockey Club and most recently with Hockey Club of St. Louis. His resume includes a Missouri State Championship and a Tier III Jr. A National Championship.

Head Coach: Cole Chatham

This will be Cole’s fourth season with the Lady Blues as the 14u Head Coach as well as an assistant for the 19U team. A Belleville, Illinois native, grew up playing both AA (Affton Americans) and AAA (St. Louis Blues) hockey before advancing to the NAHL. After splitting the year there with both the Janesville Jets and the Aberdeen Wings, Cole elected to attend the University of Mississippi and played ACHA college hockey. Cole worked as a Skills Development Coach at Elite Hockey School enhancing his knowledge on the individual side of the game. Previously an Assistant Coach for the Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville.



Head Coach: Cole Chatham

Head Coach: Stephanie Schmunk

This will be Stephanie’s first season as the head coach of the 14u Lady Blues. It is her second season with the Lady Blues program after serving as an assistant coach with the 14u team last season. A Plymouth, Michigan native, Stephanie grew up playing AAA with the Honeybaked Hockey Club where she won a State Championship and advanced to the USA Hockey National Tournament twice. After her time with Honeybaked, Stephanie advanced to play NCAA hockey at Aurora University. During her four years at Aurora University, the program won their first ever Conference Championship and made their first NCAA Tournament appearance.



Head Coach: Charlie Blyth

Charlie is entering his fifth season as the 12U Head Coach. He has been coaching girls since 2019 and has been a great addition to our programming. Originally from Montreal, he played prep school hockey before playing college hockey at Amherst College. After college he had a 6-year professional career and has the most games ever played for the Missouri River Otters.  His passion for hockey goes beyond the AAA Blues where Charlie serves as an on-ice and camp director for Hockey Ministries International.
